Purpose and mission

The operative activities were transferred from the J.S. Bach Foundation to its subsidiary to enable the Foundation to focus on fulfilling the objective set out in its statutes: to finance the performance of the entire vocal oeuvre of Johann Sebastian Bach.

Zweck AG

In January 2016, the J.S. Bach Foundation commenced a fundamental restructuring of its organisation in order to enhance management efficiency and meet the operative demands of its concert and publishing activities, which have grown continually since 2006. Key steps in the reorganisation were realised in the first quarter of 2017: the operative activities of the Foundation were transferred from the J.S. Bach Foundation to its subsidiary (“Vertriebs AG der J. S. Bach-Stiftung”) to enable the Foundation to focus on financing the performance of the entire vocal oeuvre of Johann Sebastian Bach, in accordance with its statutory aims. At the end of March 2017, the subsidiary was renamed J.S Bach St. Gallen AG.

Since then, the J.S. Bach St. Gallen AG has operated under the mandate of the J.S. Bach Foundation and is responsible for the operative implementation of the Foundation’s artistic goals.

Managing Office

To professionalise the organisation, the managing office of the J.S. Bach St. Gallen AG has been re-formed to reflect the structure of a concert events company.

Our office staff are passionate about managing all activities related to the concerts and publications of the J.S. Bach Foundation, including artist management, operations, secretariat, tickets and subscriptions, and sales and marketing. In coordinating the Foundation’s activities, we strive to reflect the high artistic level of our musicians at an administrative level. We are a small, modern, efficient and friendly team with a lean organisation and flat hierarchy.
