Johannes Widmer (born in 1971) is owner and president of the board of Gallus Media AG, the firm responsible for recording the cantatas.

Mr. Widmer began piano lessons at the age of seven and later took up the organ and choir singing. He also has basic skills on the classical guitar, violin, saxophone and flute.

Already during his schooldays in St.Gallen – where he graduated in 1991 with a focus on mathematics and natural sciences and an award for his services as a sound technician at various events – he was responsible for over 100 live radio broadcasts (church services and concerts).

Since 1991, Johannes Widmer has been sound engineer for more than 1,000 concerts and has produced over 1,000 CD and DVD studio recordings (classical/pop/rock/jazz) as well as over 130 classical concert recordings for Swiss radio and Southwest Germany's radio broadcaster.
